produced due to twinning of orthorhombic aragonite crystals forming
pseodohexagonal forms (see pictures of rough crystals below).

Examples of aragonite crystals used as a rough material for faceting of purple aragonites.
Such crystals are quite common at Minglanilla, they usually reach 3-4 cm long, but transparent areas suitable for faceting are very rare.
